In 1992, Phil became the first recipient of the coveted RE/MAX
International Hall of Fame award in Conejo Valley, California. Additionally, Phil
had attained the RE/MAX International 100% Club designation for eleven of his previous
thirteen years with RE/MAX. In 1991, Phil pursued and received the three most
prestigious designations recognized by the National Association of Realtors (NAR):
Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Graduate of Realtors Institute (GRI) and Certified
Relocation Professional (CRP), thereby placing himself in the top 2/10ths of 1% of the 2
million full-time real estate licensees in the United States. |
| Upon moving
to Colorado with his family in 1993, Phil pursued the commercial and investment
markets. He continues to set sales records and has established himself as a proven
real estate investment counselor in the process. In 1997, Phil
co-founded New Vista Real Estate & Investment Co. with his partner, Dan
Bjugstad. New Vista Real Estate & Investment Co. is actively
involved with investors and builders both large and small on both commercial and
residential projects along the Front Range communities. In 1998, Phil completed
and now co-owns the extremely successful American Storage development at I-25 &
Woodmen Road in the heart of Colorado Springs. Currently New Vista Real Estate &
Investment Co. is developing
Prestwick Townhomes in the heart
of the Lowell Neighborhood in downtown Colorado Springs. This is an "affordable
live/work" residential brick row house style community that was over 50% pre-sold
prior to ground-breaking. Phil's work ethic and reputation for honesty,
integrity and reliability have allowed him to be acknowledged as someone who can be
implicitly relied upon and trusted in all of his business and personal engagements.
In 1998, Phil served in a volunteer capacity on the Springs Community Action Plan
(SCAP) with the Economy and Jobs task force. Additionally, he assisted with the follow-up
efforts on the Coordinating Counsel of the Springs Community Action Network (SCAN) and the
Springs Quality Growth planning committee. Phil is presently serving as Chairman of
the Board of Life Network formerly the Colorado Springs Pregnancy Center. Phil is
also a retired Army artillery officer having served in Vietnam in 1967-68.
Phil and his wife, Linda, have been married for 40+ years and are enjoying their
new log home in Black Forest after having previously resided in the Southern California
area where Phil's family has lived for over four generations. Phil & Linda are
the proud parents of three children, Scott, Christa and Justin and five adorable
granddaughters.
